- It starts with a structural assessment — footings, ledger, joists, and connections. If the bones are sound, a re-deck with new boards and railings can make sense; if the structure is compromised, rebuilding is the honest recommendation. We'll tell you which one you actually need.
- Wood or composite decking?
- Wood costs less up front and takes stain well; composite costs more but cuts maintenance dramatically. Material, drainage, and connection details matter as much as the visible design — we'll walk you through both against your budget and how you use the space.
- Do decks need permits around here?
- Almost always, and township requirements differ across Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. We handle the permit drawings, application, and inspections as part of the project.
- When's the best time to build a deck?
- We build in three seasons and book spring earliest. If you want to be grilling by Memorial Day, start the conversation in winter — design, permits, and material lead times all come off the clock before the first footing is dug.
